About two hours south of Budapest lies beautiful Szekszárd. Mediterranean influenced climate and good soil are the perfect ingredients for a wine, which is famous since the Roman times. It feels like literally every family is somehow involved in growing, making or selling it.
So is a former colleague of mine from Hungary, who invited us for a wonderful wine tasting night to his hometown. It was a long trip to get there, but definitely worth every moment.
It feels weird to bring home 8 liters of wine in plastic (!) bottles, but I guess it’s like never judge a book by its cover. I’m already looking forward to the first occasion to try one of them again.
